Joan Rockey
CastleArk Management LLC
Joan Rockey is the Chief Accounting Officer of CastleArk Management LLC, a 3 billion AUM Chicago-area registered investment advisor founded in 1999 with a focus on Large Cap Growth, Small Company Growth, All-Cap Growth, and Global Energy strategies. Ms. Rockey is a key executive that oversees the strategic direction of the firm and manages the finance, accounting, and operational functions.

Previously, Ms. Rockey was the Chief Executive Officer of Hadelrock Consulting LLC, a Chicago-area outsource firm providing Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) and Chief Operating Officer services to the hedge funds, investment advisors and other financial firms; the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hadelrock Capital Management LLC (“HCM LLC”), a Chicago-area alternative investment management firm focusing on event-driven absolute return strategies; an Event-Driven Strategies Trader and Chief Operating Officer at the proprietary firm, Option Opportunities Company; and a Consultant of Reorganization & Restructuring Advisory Group at Ernst & Young LLP.

Ms. Rockey has an M.S. in Finance from DePaul University and a B.S. in Accountancy from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Ms. Rockey is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, a Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charterholder. Ms. Rockey’s volunteer leadership positions include Board member for CAIA Chicago, Board Member for The Cradle Investment Committee, Past Chairman of the Board for the CFA Society of Chicago, Board Member for 100 Women in Hedge Funds Chicago, and Board member for University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Business Alumni Association. In addition, Ms. Rockey is a contributing author to the Encyclopedia of Alternative Investments, ed. 2008.
