Kathleen Lauster brings over 15 years of financial services industry experience, working for and advising buyside and sellside firms. Most recently as Senior Vice President within Houlihan Lokey's Restructuring Group, she focused on distressed capital raises, debt restructuring, bankruptcy reorganization, and liquidations within the financial institutions and commercial real estate sector. Prior clients include the Bank of Ireland, the Icelandic Banks, GGP, Capital Trust, Lehman Brothers, and CIT Group, Inc. Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Ms. Lauster was a portfolio manager with Church Tavern Advisors, an asset management firm specializing in structured finance products, where she participated in the acquisition, surveillance and trading of a portfolio of collateralized debt obligations whose underlying assets included mortgage-backed, asset-backed, and commercial loan securities. Earlier, she was a senior consultant in the financial services practice at Deloitte Consulting, where she advised major financial institutions on various aspects of strategic business plans and risk management, including market, credit, and operational risk. She began her career at First Chicago NBD (now part of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.) as a corporate lender in the middle-market and distressed commercial real estate assets practices. Ms. Lauster sit on the Junior Board of Streetwise Partners, is an Officer of the University of Michigan Ross Entrepreneur’s Club, and a Sustainer with the Junior League of New York. She earned dual bachelor's degrees in finance and international relations from Michigan State University and received her M.B.A. with honors from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. She also completed graduate-level coursework at Escola Superior d'Administracio I Direccio d'Empreses (ESADE) in Barcelona. She is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Representative (Series 7 and 63) and a Limited Representative – Investment Banking (Series 79).
