Maria Gattuso is a partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher. She has extensive experience representing registered investment companies and private funds. She provides counsel on the establishment and operation of registered investment companies and hedge funds, new product development and alternative fund structures (including registered and unregistered master/feeder and fund of funds structures and business development companies), status issues, and regulatory issues affecting the creation and operation of public and private funds. She also has a broad transactional experience involving funds and their advisers, including mergers and acquisition transactions.

Maria has a sophisticated securities and general corporate background. She also has extensive transactional experience involving public and private companies, including mergers, acquisitions and tender offers. In addition, Ms. Gattuso has provided ongoing corporate representation of public and private companies. She is the co-author of "Negotiating the Purchase Agreement," Mergers & Acquisitions in the 90s a Step by Step Guide (Practising Law Institute, 1998).

Maria was previously a partner at Shearman & Sterling. She received her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1994 and her undergraduate degree from SUNY Stony Brook in 1990. Maria is admitted to the New York Bar and speaks fluent Spanish.
