Marjorie Kaufman, CFA
Marjorie Kaufman, CFA is a Partner and Head of Marketing with Barington Capital, an activist manager founded in 2000 by James A. Mitarotonda. Prior to joining Baringon, she was Managing Director and Head of Marketing with Guggenheim Global Trading. From 2003 through 2010 Marjorie was Managing Director and Head of Investor Relations and Marketing and a member of the Management Committee at Kingdon Capital. Prior to Kingdon, she was a Senior Vice President at J. & W. Seligman, where she helped launch Seligman's first hedge fund. Before joining Seligman she directed marketing and client service at Towneley Capital Management. Marjorie began her career in investment banking with Bankers Trust and Prudential Securities structuring transactions involving ESOPs and advising on M&A deals and closed-end fund offerings. She holds a BA magna cum laude in Economics and Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago. She was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1996 and in 2010 was named one of the 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds by the Hedge Fund Journal. Marjorie chairs the Hilltop Cares Foundation and is a long-time board member of the Young Women's Leadership Network in NY.
