Merry Sheils
Senior Portfolio Manager, Managed Account Platforms and Related Investments
Merry is a seasoned financial industry executive specializing in portfolio management for high net worth individuals, corporations and institutions. Her experience includes the founding of a SEC regulated investment advisory and consulting firm, First New York Equity, Inc., which she directed for almost 18 years, and sold this business to Price Waterhouse Coopers, joining them as part of the sale to head the firm's Consulting Management Practice. She has since held executive positions as a Senior Portfolio Manager for Mellon Bank, Wilmington Trust Company and Bank of New York with a particular expertise in Managed Account platforms and extensive expertise in manager review, selection and diligence. She has been a member of executive and management committees in each of her tenures. She is currently again leading her own business, consulting for industry firms looking for an expertise in portfolio management or assistance managing their assets.

Merry is an accomplished public speaker with frequent appearances on CNBC and other media. She is the author of Debt Based Securities, published by Harcourt, Brace, Jovanovich 1996, has been a regular columnist for Chief Executive Magazine, and has a number of other articles published in various industry magazines including Forbes and Working Woman.

Merry is an active member of multiple clubs and organizations, of note including The Women's Bond Club and the Economic Club of New York, The Central Park Conservancy, Metropolitan Opera Guild, the Old Chatham Hunt Club, and the Columbia County Historical Society. As a member of the New York Road Runners, she has competed in both domestic and international marathons. She is a graduate of State University of New York, where she earned her BS in finance.
