Vivian Lau

Partner of Serengeti Asset Management

Vivian joined as a partner of Serengeti Asset Management in October 2008. Prior to Serengeti, Vivian was an eight-year veteran at Goldman Sachs (2000-2008) who was promoted to Managing Director in 2006 at the age of 28. She managed the Multi-Strategy Investing ("MSI") from 2006-2008, a multi-billion dollar proprietary investment platform within the Goldman Sachs Situations Group. MSI was mandated to opportunitistically invest across asset classes which include distressed debt, corporate credit, middle market loans, and equities. Vivian served on Goldman Sachs' America's Special Situations Group Investment Committee (2006-2008) and Specialty Lending Group Investment Committee (2006-2008). Prior to the promotion to run MSI, Vivian was a senior investment professional from 2002-2006 in the Special Situations Investing ("SSI"),the predecessor to MSI. She began her career on the Distressed Bank Loan Investing Group in 2000. Vivian graduated from Harvard University in 2000 with a degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics.
