DATE: Thursday, November 24th, 2011
LOCATION: Grand Hotel Kempinski Geneva

Geneva, 1201, Switzerland
The 2011 Geneva 100 Women in Hedge Funds annual charity Gala was music to your ears (and hearts). This elegant black tie fundraising dinner raised CHF380,000 for our beneficiary Coeurs Pour Tous (Hearts For All) and included a personal appearance by Belinda Carlisle (www.belindacarlisle.tv) who sang songs from her million-selling Greatest Hits album, released in 1999. Bloomberg TV anchor Maryam Nemazee compered the event.
The evening commenced with champagne aperitifs overlooking the lake followed by dinner in the magnificent ballroom of the Grand Hotel Kempinski. Adding sparkle to the evening, the auction conducted by Sotheby's auctioneer Caroline Lang, Co-Chairman, Sotheby's Geneva, featured a diamond and pearl necklace donated by Adler Joailliers, ladies and men's watches by De La Cour and Parmigiani and 1 week's use of a spa chalet in Verbier. After listening to Belinda Carlisle, guests had the chance to win fabulous prizes from cigars to designer handbags and luxury hotel stays. The evening concluded to the sounds of a top DJ/music producer and dancing.
This year's beneficiary was Coeurs Pour Tous (Hearts for All). Coeurs Pour Tous was established in 1998 in Switzerland by Professor Kalangos, the Chief of the Cardiovascular Department of the University Hospital of Geneva (HUG). Since its creation, the association has saved the lives of thousands of children with cardiac diseases living in developing countries, performing surgery in hospitals desperately lacking adequate equipment and trained medical staff. It has also introduced life-saving heart institutes in Mozambique, Mauritius, Serbia and Lebanon and funds raised by 100 Women in Hedge Funds will be used to open a fully equipped clinic in Vietnam and provide training to the local medical team in order to save yet more young and disadvantaged lives.
