2013 London Gala to benefit Action on Addiction

DATE: Thursday, October 24th, 2013

LOCATION: The State Apartments at Kensington Palace

100WHF’s London Gala was held on 24 October 2013 at Kensington Palace, with HRH The Duchess of Cambridge in attendance, in her capacity as an official Patron of 100WHF’s philanthropic initiatives. More than 250 leaders from across the alternative investment industry supported the Gala event. During the evening, The Duchess of Cambridge presented Dame Amelia Fawcett DBE, Chairman of the Hedge Fund Standards Board in London, with the 2013 100WHF European Industry Leadership Award in recognition of Dame Fawcett’s dedication to serving the financial services industry.

100WHF raised over £600,000 (gross) with net proceeds to Action on Addiction.

100WHF was honoured to host HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, who became a Patron of 100 Women in Hedge Funds' philanthropic initiatives for a three-year period in January 2013. 100WHF’s three-year partnership with The Charities Forum of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry will focus on three specifically chosen charities, including Action on Addiction in 2013, and the focus reflects 100WHF’s three philanthropic themes of mentoring, women’s and family health, and education.
