100 Women in Hedge Funds’ Geneva Gala and other Swiss fundraising activities throughout the year raises over CHF 360,000 (in gross proceeds) for the Roger Federer Foundation

Geneva, Switzerland - December 2, 2013 - 100 Women in Hedge Funds ("100WHF") held its 6th Annual Geneva Gala last week at the Hotel President Wilson, and successfully raised CHF 360,000 in gross proceeds at the Gala and other fundraising activities throughout the year for the Roger Federer Foundation. Funds will be devoted to the project run by a:primo to support early childhood development and mentoring among underprivileged families across Switzerland.

The evening, attended by over 250 members and leaders across the European Alternatives industry and VIP guests Lynette and Robbie Federer, included a live auction by Sotheby's Caroline Lang, and featured a live acoustic performance by members of the group Skunk Anansie and a live set by DJ Skin.
Roger Federer recorded a video message for 100WHF which was played during the evening. He thanked 100WHF for the difference they were making for children in Switzerland through the a: primo programme.

Since its formation in 2001, 100WHF has raised over $33 million gross globally to support various charities in the fields of Women's and Family Health, Mentoring and Education. 100WHF's three core pillars include industry education, peer leverage and philanthropy. The organization’s philanthropic mission is to utilize its collective abilities and expertise in order to give back to the local community in an impactful way. Beneficiaries are chosen on a rotating basis by 100WHF's Board of Directors, and the global philanthropic theme for 2013 is Mentoring.

Attending the event, Lynette Federer said, "It's amazing what such powerful and passionate women can achieve. This gives the Roger Federer Foundation even more motivation to serve less fortunate children in Switzerland. We thank 100 Women in Hedge Funds for all their efforts."
Claire Smith, London Board member for 100WHF and responsible for its Swiss initiatives said, "We are thrilled to have raised funds for such a worthy cause. We have enjoyed being associated with the Roger Federer Foundation this year, and are pleased to know that all our efforts will greatly help those children served by the a:primo programme."
