London, UK - June 14, 2007 - Leaders across the hedge fund industry gathered last night and raised more than £400,000 ($800,000) at the 100 Women in Hedge Funds inaugural Gala celebrating mentoring at the Royal Courts of Justice in London. All proceeds from the event go directly to The Prince’s Trust, 100 Women in Hedge Funds’ UK Charity of the Year.

"Over the past five years 100 Women in Hedge Funds has raised more than £5 million ($10 million) for causes in the areas of women’s health, education and mentoring. We are thrilled that this first effort in London was such a success," said Anne B. Popkin, Chairman of the Board of 100 Women in Hedge Funds.

The proceeds from the Gala fund The Prince’s Trust work in improving the lives of disadvantaged young people in the UK and help them to overcome barriers and get their lives back on track. Through practical support including training, mentoring and financial assistance, this funding will help 14-30 year-olds to realize their potential and transform their lives.

Julian Barrell, Director of Fundraising for The Prince’s Trust, said "We need to raise £1 million a week in order to continue our work. And so we are delighted with the money raised by 100 Women in Hedge Funds. It will improve the lives of many disadvantaged young people.”"

"We are pleased that 100 Women in Hedge Funds could make a significant contribution to The Prince’s Trust. This great success is owed in large part to the corporate financial contributions from our Patrons but also the support and dedication of our 100 Women in Hedge Funds volunteer committee," said Kristen Eshak, London Gala Chair.

100 Women in Hedge Funds presented two of the most coveted awards in the hedge fund industry at the Gala.

Gay Huey Evans, President of Tribeca Global Management (Europe) Ltd. was honoured with the 100 Women in Hedge Funds’ European Industry Leadership Award for her talent, ethics and passion that help define the hedge fund industry’s standard of excellence. "I'm truly honoured to be recognized by 100 Women in Hedge Funds, and am pleased to be associated with their efforts to advance the interests of the alternative investments sector," said Ms. Huey Evans

Michael Hintze, CEO of CQS was honoured with the 100 Women in Hedge Funds’ European Effecting Change Award for his outstanding philanthropic contributions. "I am delighted that 100 Women in Hedge Funds is focused on mentoring this year as it is an area I believe strongly in. Young people are our future and we must continue to invest in them," said Hintze.

The Gala culminated with a Live Auction, conducted by Guest Auctioneer Philip Hook of Sotheby’s, that drew in substantial proceeds through the competitive bidding on a series of valuable lots that were generously donated, including: Lunch with former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher; a Donna Karan Spring Fashion Show and shopping experience in New York or London; a Behind the Scenes Tour of Sotheby’s Main Galleries and lunch for 10 in Sotheby’s London Board room; tickets and backstage passes for a meet and greet with Grammy winning artist John Mayer, tea at the Ritz with legendary actress, Brenda Blethyn, and tickets for 10 for the Salon Prive Super Car Ladies Day Garden Party at the Hurlingham Club.
